Could be either. Put in a straight plug and apply "a little" pressure and looke closely as you do. DONT just press hard on the plug, because if you've got a crack you might break the wood. If its a hairline... it can be fixed pretty easily. If its a little bigger even, its still easy to fix. If you crack it out, well... it can be fixed, but now its a major big deal to do.
well i cant really see anything but i think it might be cracked because sometimes i hear a weird cracking type of sound when i unplug it. i'm not really sure what that is, but i think it could be cracking for some reason. would i see it through the paint if its a hairline crack? i'm almost sure if its cracked it wouldnt be a hairline crack. i just cant see anything really. i dont know.
I don't quite understand. Is the cracking sound coming out of your amp? Or, if you put your ear to your guitar by the jack, are you saying you can hear a cracking sound there when pulling the jack out?
Didn't Freddy Krueger kill someone on Friday the 13th that way? ;D ;D ;D Pure BS.
Put a Voltmeter or an Ammeter on the cable and you will see it's not much at all! .009 DCV
Brain damage? I guess we shall see...
