Japan limited Epi SG

I went to the local guitar shop, where I played Epiphone Japan limited SG
(called SG 61 Lacquer). It was made in Japan and the sound was amazing!  :o What
impressed me most was the neck. Nice fast neck as my 64 SG. The headstock is
not an Epi-style, but Gibby-style. Pics are not so good, I'm sorry. There
were white, cherry and black ones. Great guitars!!

If the price is't too high I guess it would be worth the trouble to get them to EU...

The thing that sucks is, that to order a guitar from Japan, the customs tear you a new as***le. At least for Greece, it's sth like 25% of the whole cost (guitar + shipping) added...So, happy_tom, I guess that the price will be at Gibson Custom teritorry at the time this Japanese SG reaches Slovenia... ;D

I guess that importing to the US must be way cheaper though.

They were sold 79800 JPY at the shop. These are far better than Elitists. Amazing guitars. Laqcuer is sprayed very thinly. The tone is a bit more treble compared to Gibson SG standard, I think. If I didn't have Gibsons, I'd grab one. Belive me, this SG is awesome! If you are interested in buying, ask Ishibashi if they can ship overseas.

I have an older Japan Elite model (Gibson style headstock) that has a very thin poly finish (similar to the short lived American faded Elitists)
. . . but the color is rather ugly - kind of a cinamon red

I was going to sell it . . . but maybe I'll refin it in white!!!

Japanese knock-offs of classic guitars are usually flawless reproductions with meticulous attention to fine details. My first guitar was an '85 squire strat that was made in Japan shortly after fender took control of the factory after a lawsuit. I did not know it at the time but this squire was built with original '57 strat jigs and the neck has a NITRO finish! Everybody who played it commented how they couldn't believe it was a squire and it was better than the 80's us standards. Over the years I've checked out squires hoping to find another like it but they all sucked in comparison. I finally found a website explaning the whole story and how the japanese made mid 80's squires are highly regarded.
