Which amp would you choose? I'm looking at getting a new amp, I currently have a micro terror with matching cab. While it's a great practice amp I'm looking at getting something bigger and it must have 2 channels. I was thinking of getting the DSL40C new for £599. I love the sound of a Marshall with an SG. However I have the chance to get a used JVM215C for £750. Do you guys think it is it worth the extra £149

I think, yes, it is absolutely worth that small premium. It is a totally different class of amplifier.

I can't get along with the DSL's, they sound fizzy to me. The JVM is a monster, but it! (and not sure if it matters to you, but it does to me: the JVM is made in England)

Thanks for your opinion gball, I went with the JVM in the end. It's one of the tattoo series they released, I think a plain grill looks better but considering the money I've saved it's not a big deal. Amps are there to be heard not looked at.

Good choice. I play my JVM 205C every day and I have never regretted the purchase, although the 410C would be nice!!!

I can see the grill cloth being an acquired taste. I'd probably find a replacement grill and keep the original in the closet in case I ever wanted to sell the amp, but tone-wise you definitely made the right choice.

The drummer in my band has a DSL that he uses in other bands when he's playing guitar. He has had a lot of problems with it recently, and is taking the offer of a local amp tech to basically build a JCM 800 inside the DSL case ... works out cheaper than fixing all the problems with the DSL.

He has some kind of weird cap problem and the loop has been a lot of trouble.
