New Gibson SG Day, a nice 2023 SG Special P90. This is a great Gibson, I like the new darker Cherry finish, not the washed orange, neck profile is slim taper. I will make some modifications: metal nickel P90 covers, wide bevel pickguard, adjustable wraparound bridge and vintage repro knobs with pointers.
🎸

Made in Costa Rica brown/pink case is very well made, high quality. I will post better pictures.

Congrats!
I dig my Jan. '22 Special in Pelham Blue.
All I did to mine was ditch the lightning bridge for an Aluminum 50's type and add knob pointers.
Enjoy your new SG. :thumb:

The 50’s wraparound and 60’s lightning bar wraparound are not interchangeable due to the location of the bridge posts.

1961-62 has the bridge posts located for a 50’s style wraparound that is slanted at an angle in relation to the pup.

1963-present has the bridge posts located for a 60’s style wraparound (lightning bar) that is parallel to the pup.

For reference, look at the wraparound bridge position on a vintage 61-62 and then a 63 SG Junior or Special.

My '20 SG Junior came stock with the 50's aluminum wraptail. It's Gibson baby pic shows it. Some that year and later came stock with the lightning.
In my case, with my "original collection" SGs, those two bridges are interchangeable. The Special and Junior intonate up just dandy. :thumb:

Pretty funny - one is 1/5 the price of the other.

@SFrench

I don' t understand how a '50s bridge, compensated or not can work on a '60s designed SG....

The adjustable bridge is a Musiclily Pro Pigtail, simple and very well made hardware. The finish is nickel. I was surprised when I saw the price, 22 €uros... Incredible!

Your guitar is no longer intonated. While the part will fit the posts, it is not designed for your guitar, it's designed for offset posts, as Papagayo's post depicts. Notice how it's parallel with the pickup on the Pelham Blue Special, but not parallel on the Junior? There's a reason for that, and it's intonation.

The reason the Junior's bridge is more angled is it's "bridge screw" is backed out more on the low E side than was needed for the Special to intonate. The bridge posts for the Junior and Special are in the same place.
One would think after 46 years of playing and 30 + years of setting up my own and other players guitars that I might just understand the imperfections of the guitar and know that tuning and intonation are a balancing act that has inherent compromises.

The 2020 was slightly offset, that’s why it has a non-compensated bridge. The later ones were parallel with a compensated bridge.
