It seems like years since I sold my last SG Special . . . I always regretted it and in truth I cant really remember the reasons why . . It just happened and then it was history . . . Anyway the itch just got bigger and I started to off some of the CRAP I accumulated over time in a half hearted effort to start another SG Fund . . . Ive never owned a twin P90 SG Classic but Ive always loved the sweet tone and clarity of what is essentially an over wound Single Coil . . When one came up, without pickups, at a fair price I just had to have it . . . I managed to buy one pickup ( Oil City ) from the previous owner and Ive bought a Tonerider Vintage P90 which, fingers crossed, should arrive tomorrow . . . I have bought a few Tonerider Pickups in the past and can honestly say the Bridge Pickup in my USA Telecaster is possibly the best pickup Ive ever heard . . . Im always blown away by the excellent build quality, tone & low cost . . Ive got Dougie at Treecreeper Guitar booked in on Saturday to sort out the wiring and I'm good to go . . . Cant wait :-)

Congrats!
Welcome to the SG Classic Club.
I have a 2004 and 2006.
They’re my daily drivers.

I'm going to change out the Tuners for stock Kluson Buttons . . . the extra weight of the Grovers doesn't really help with the neck balance and I intend to swap the pickguard as the previous owner fitted a MIDI Pickup but other than that its pretty much sorted . . . The neck is absolutely sublime . . Its a good handful without being awkward, very comfy . . .

SG Classic is my favorite SG ever produced.
Unfortunate they were discontinued.
That’s OK.
I have two of them.

Nice SG Classic, for the tuners look at the KLUSON Revolution,
they are light weight, 1:19 high ratio, very smooth knobs

The bridge on your SG is reversed, wrong position. Look at the saddles.

Yeah, but sometimes you have to do that. Look at the low E. The saddle is as far as it can go towards the tailpiece. The string is at maximum length. You flip that bridge and the slope on the saddle would keep that E string way too short.

I wasn't sure when I put it together so I copied an example on Reverb or eBay ?? and it was this way around . . I later looked closer at a Les Paul, then another SG to check if I was right and, of course, I was wrong . . . Either way the intonation is "spot on" but the Low E is almost adjusted to the MAX . . . I may swap it around and reset the intonation . "again" but I cant stop playing it so, I guess it will be when I next change the strings . . . You can see on the picture above where the previous owner fitted a Midi Pickup . . . It also had a non drill Vibramate / Bigsby on at one point so in normal daylight you can see where the bracket was against the Body . . .

Its my Blackstar Artisan 15 . . On Channel 1 . . I've put a 12AT7 in V1 to "calm" it down a little to give me a little more "Fender" than "GROWL" . . . on Channel 2 I've managed to get hold of a sweet Mullard EF86 . . its super smooth and sounds amazing when its wound up . . . I use the Quadraverb GT as its got the sweetest Reverbs & Delays plus a little modulation . . . Its old, but not as old as me :-) And I was trying out a TC Electronic Nova Delay the day I took the picture but it didn't quite work ( for me ) so its back in its box . .

You're fine. It doesn't matter. There is no right or wrong direction. As long as the saddles are cut properly for the individual strings, intonation can be set properly, and the strings aren't hitting the back of the bridge, it matters not which way it's installed. Also, yay Classics!

Chrome P90 covers are really cool on your ebony SG Classic.
