I agree... some excellent "new" models here from Gibson.
it's also an ingenious way of test marketing appeal and demand. If they sell out quickly, they might even be tempted to do a bigger production run at some later date, perhaps?

I'd imagine that the people who bought the original run of whatever would be repeated would be a bit pissed off with that though.
The Special looks sweet but I wish they had gone with a compensated wraparound bridge instead of the tunematic to set it further apart from the SG Classic.

That's what I don't understand about Gibson. I got a SG-3. The first 300 or 400(I can't remember) had a special serial #. An inked 'C with a 1 thru 300' meant it was a Cherry and the # represented the production #. Or it had a 'E with a 1 thru 300'. The 'E' meant it was ebony. AS far as I know the GOWs have no special serial# designated them as limited numbered. Go figure. :dontknow:

I think most people prefer the smaller pickguard on customs, that one did nothing for me.
I did however, already order #37. I have to call my dealer back on Tuesday to get a delivery date, but he already secured two from Gibson on Friday at my request.
