Just won an auction for my first Epi, which is also going to be my first electric! It's a lightly used Epiphone Re-issue of the 1966 style SG, in the worn cherry finish. I am STOKED! Now I somehow need to keep from going nuts with anticipation waiting for the delivery of my new baby! :D

My fiancee already has an amp (for her electric violin), so I at least have something I can jam out with as soon as it hits my doorstep. I'll get some pics up ASAP.

Just wanted to share in my glee!

It arrived yesterday! ;D Well, actually, it arrived 5 minutes before I had to leave for work (night shift). So I at least got to see it, but not really play it before I left.

Here's the pics:

I LOVE THIS GUITAR!

All I can say is "Wow!" I got this from ebay user "spinadict", and he went above and beyond. It was obvious he's a music lover. The way it was packaged was absolutely BOMBPROOF. An awesome seller, and just a plain ole good guy. Very friendly, easy to deal with.

When I got home from work, it was time to finally play it. This being my first electric guitar, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The strings are MUCH lighter than the acoustic I've been learning on. I plugged it into the little amp I have, and fired it up. Initially started out on the clean channel. Wow, much easier to finger notes than I'm used to. It felt almost like I was cheating or something. Then I switched it over to the dirty channel.

HOLY CRAP! This thing is AWESOME! I am so impressed with how this guitar just GROWLS. I fired off some "smoke on the water" and a few AC/DC riffs. I was just floored. I ended up out in the garage ALL NIGHT playing it. I am so stoked. I was jazzed about learning guitar before, but now I'm just... wow. Lets just say that now I want to go out and learn dozens more songs, because I just don't want to put this beauty down.

I won an ebay auction for $360. The major online guitar vendors have the same guitar brand new for $399, but I figured that getting it this way netted me the guitar at normal price plus a very nice case for free. I am totally happy too, as the pickguard still had the protective plastic still on it when it arrived. I would definitely say that the previous owner played it very little, and took extra special care of it.
