Road Worn Strat for sale; possible trade

Here's my Strat that I thought I'd never get rid of. I just don't play it enough to justify keeping it. It's exactly what it's suppose to be and more. It has a set of CS Texas Specials, has been copper shielded, and the electricals upgraded with lead pickup having tone control. It's nice under the hood! Plays and feels great, and sounds as good as any Strat I've ever played. Excellent blues and rock guitar.

I'm looking for $700 shipped and PP'd with a hard case. These seem to be selling for $7-900 without the CS pickups. I'd trade for the right SG, but I'm sure nobody here would wanna do that!

Lineboat, if I may be so bold as to make a personal recommendation. Keep your Strat.

This deal has regret written all over it!

You are almost guaranteed to wish you had not gotten rid of it later on.

I've got a feeling you guys are right. It's really pretty sweet, and about the only guitar I have that I can play SRV on. Maybe I just need that "Custom" sticker!

Good call. Just keep it. An SG will come your way soon enough. From other posts you've made, it's obvious this guitar goes back away with you. In a few years time (or less) you'd find yourself trying to replace it if you had parted with it.

Wow! I looked at that Strat lustfully and, just as quickly discarded the idea of buying it for THAT very reason! Not to save LB from regret, but because I knew I couldn't enjoy it knowing that LB prolly regretted parting with it.

I guess I should have posted on here, I DID swap the Strat. I pulled it out several times, and found myself putting it back up. It was an amazingly good playing and sounding guitar, bit I didn't use it. It seemed a shame for it to sit around.......

I'm a big Jaguar fan, and made a trade with a guy on a 2-3 month old Classic Player. I haven't even got to see/play it yet, but when I do, there'll be a thread on it. I find the Jag much more useful, have other Strats, and this feller likes the RW so much he's selling a Wildwood 54 and another of his customs! I can't wait to play the Jaguar. 22 more days!

I LOVE my Jaguar (though its just a "lowly" Squire) the harmonics (I think that is the right word) created by the loooong stretch from that funky trem to the bridge.......I own nothing else that gives me those neat and rare tones....
And all those switches and chrome.........and its SURF GReen!!!!! happy happy happy -----its a new 2014 I got for 1/2 price from MF......HAPPIER HAPPPIER HAPPIER.

Yeah, it is nice, but pricey. I could see meself getting one at the right price one day; maybe a big chain selling them off at $499!

I agree! And progress is good, right?! The way I see it, if it sits and sits and sits, it needs to go. If I'll use it regularly, I'll keep it forever.
My dad took my boy to the little local country store a couple years ago. Let him pick out a big bag of candy. Before they made the 5 mile ride back home, he'd eaten almost all of it. My dad asked something like "why'd you eat it all that quick?", to which Bubba replies "Well, Papa, you know if this stuff sits very long after being opened it goes bad!" Ha!

You know what I like about this place; a classified add can turn into anything, like this! A thread on strings may end up anywhere. Everyone gets along. Everyone has a sense of humor. Everyone gladly gives their knowledge without belittling others. Overall a great group of folks. And Adrian too........
