I have one of those helping hands magnifier setups, but like others said, it has limitations but also serves as intended for more portable parts than inside of amps and guitar cavities.

I have around 15 years on the HAKKO 936. I like the 3.2mm chisel tip I buy them 100 at a time less then $1.00 each.
+1 on the fumes I use a fan. I use it for guitar amps most of the time a tip will last 1 to 2 amp builds that's 500' of wire.
The new flux is worthless water base but you can still get the good old solder flux from a plumbing supply.
Keep the tips clean let the rosin burn off and let the solder flow.

Please check what the flux is if you use plumbing flux. Make sure it is rosin-based. Some of it is acid, and although it makes a fine job of big chunks of copper pipe, it will eat through thin electronics wires in a few minutes.

The type I use claims on the container safe for electronics. Good point.
