Charlie-

You can get the tilt leg stops a:

Parts is Parts (John Sprung's shop): http://www.guitar-parts.com/

or a guy I ran into at the Dallas Guitar show who has literally just about any piece of hardware for amps:

Jim Sheehan / Sheehan Enterprises
320-543-2194
6971 20th St. SW
Howard Lake, MN 55349

Mojo Musical Supply: http://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/cgi-bin/mojotone/

Hope that helps! I agree with you on all of the typically recommended tolex glues, but the AES stuff really works well for me, and any excess is very easy to get off the tolex when the job is done. But it's all down to what you like...

Re: Twin Reverb project.....

Well, Sprung is my vendor of last resort.

Mojo might have possibilities though.

Parts is parts is usually scary expensive but I've been getting tons of Fender stuff from Jim Sheehan for the last 6 years .. he was the secret till he started doing guitar shows. I've built up an expansive stock of Fender parts thru him! There's somebody else up in Albany, if I can find the info to post for ya'll ... two girls and they know their @*&%

Voxie-

Yeah, I've bought a bunch of stuff from him as well- he's at the Dallas and Arlington shows every year. Sprung is expensive, but at one point he was the only guy who had a few items.

I forgot to mention Ampwares- he carries a lot of stuff, but he was really unreliable the few times I dealt with him.

I will be curious to see your source from Albany- I am ALWAYS looking for an alternate source for parts.

A few towns over from me in DFW, there was a Mom and Pop hardware shop that carried the most extensive selection of quality hardware- particularly stainless stuff. Sadly, they went out of business this past year, and now I am down to this company for basic hardware:

American Trim and Upholstery http://www.atrim.com/index.html

Ya'll let me know if you have any other good sources for parts!!

Re: Twin Reverb project.....

I get all my hardware - stainless - from West Marine. They have every oddball stainless screw in inch and metric... amazing place.

Ampwares has run hot and cold. He sent me a bad chassis, which took me months of phone calls to get right. But I got some tolex from him and it came in real quick. Vic just got a chassis and parts from him, we're waiting oh shipment.

What ever happened to smartparts? They used to be THE Fender national parts distributor everyone else had to buy from. Did they fold or just doing dealer only now ... or what?

Larry Rodgers used to make some REAL nice face plates, his cabinets were "ok", not as good as Mojo, but at the time, better priced. He's gone it seems.

I used larry last year for some stuff ... dug up his # again out of an old VG but he's in Naples Florida now! I'll locate, somehow, the Albany addy n # which is in a big pile in my music room which is a pigpen .. posted pics in the Ibeenhad effects thread .. I just ordered a ton of stuff from Ampware's yesterday for my next 18 and 36 watt Marshall builds ... I just hope he's timely this time  When I started seeing Jim Sheehan at the Philly show I would literly buy 25 lbs of all assorted parts as they were a little more reasonable there and there was no shipping so .... thanks for the info so far!

Rodgers is back in Naples? Man he's been all over. Was in Naples. Then either N or S Carolina, then Canada. Sheesh.

Seems like he loves it in Naples as well as having some family there ... I suspect, but have no evidence, so it's not fair to say, but, I will anyway, :coolsmiley: possibly some kind of substance abuse issue! But I hope it wasn't so ..... with a grain of salt on that one. :-\

Re: Twin Reverb project.....

I used to have Naples as a territory, and Doug Hoffman suggested that I call on Larry for a faceplate and cabinet. So I trucked on over to see him... this was in the mid 90's, maybe 96 or so posible 97.

Got to his old place out on Taylor Road in Naples, which happened to be about half a mile from our new warehouse!! He was basically livin' in his shop. It was pretty evident. Had one bay set up for a shop, the other was a "showroom" but he was really living there. In the back he had a small stove, fridge, and a half made sofabed that looked it was a reject from some skid row flophouse. Never saw the wall unit AC run, maybe he kept that on only at nite.... dunno.

I never really felt all that comfy with his stuff, and from what I saw of it, you pretty much had to buy in person to be sure of the quality.

Then again, he always wanted the old face back (for free) "because Fender makes me turn in an old one for every one I sell....". Then I saw him selling the old ones too... but never brought up any issues, since I never gave him anything in the way of a faceplate.

His silkscreens though, if you got a good one, were REALLY good.

He had some things goin. He'd be out there spraying laquer on some grille cloth or such whenever I showed up (always outta the blue).
I guess it was that sofa bed with the sweaty sheets on it... and forget his pillows... omg. A lasting impression of "your basic bum" was had.

Well that would explain why I could never get a hold of Mr. Rogers...

Regarding faceplates, I bought several from a gent in Oklahoma that were of very good quality.

Chris Stanley
608 S. Wilson
El Reno, OK 73036
405-202-5695

Chris is a really nice guy, but I don't know if he's still making them or not. Sure beat buying them from Songwut in Thailand- the shipping was STOOPID expensive.

CB-thanks for the lead on West Marine, I need a good stainless supplier now that my local guy is out of bidness.....
