Looks like it's a valid offer. Probably a 4-piece (or more) body, since it's
painted. One piece wrap-around bridge (not suitable for intonation),
one pickup. But, it IS a Gibson, so that's a good price.

In my experience, the people who answer the phones there know next to nothing.

So if I bought one of those...

Could I install an adjustable saddle bridge like an ABR1 or something so i could intonate it? ;)

or is that a big pain in the arse to do? :-\

Wraparound
There's got to be several adjustable intonation wraparounds to choose from. If price becomes a serious issue, then somehow flatten or regroove the bars to your own specs! hehehe, shape some new bars with some silver solder and your good to go!!!

Dang man, where was this deal when I was looking for my first Gibson SG!!!

For $399!!! Shoot, at that price, one might,,, awe man, I just realized, they probably do NOT have a full sized control cavity back there, but if they did,,, you could carefully drill some holes and route another pickup cavity and,,, and,,, install a neck pup and since it has a full pick guard, you could route a small channel for the wire and there you go!

Maybe a surface mount neck P90!

hmmmmmmmm

I'm tempted to pull the trigger but they only have that ugly wine red in stock.
I'd go for the ebony but that red is serious ugly IMHO.

$399.00 SG + Bridge
I like the Combo bridge for 36.92 the best. All aluminum..... ;D

$129.50   TonePros bridge  fully adjustable
$108.00   BadAss Bridge   fully adjustable
$89.95     Pigtail    fully adjustable (stewmac)
$58.19     Schaller   fully adjustable (stewmac)
$38.56     Wilkinson   B & G string adjustable only
$36.92     Combo   fully adjustable (stewmac) copy of old Gibson adjustable bridge.

Quite a bargain for a genuine Gibson. They must be overstock that isn't selling. I'd pick one up if I hadn't just bought the white Super Lead. No way I could explain another guitar to the wife. :(

AFAIK they cavity is full size

Well looky there! Sorta projects the door wide open for doing a pickup add on project. Brand new Gibby SG with gigbag costs 400 clams with full pickguard and full sized control cavity. Can it be that SG is likely destined for some happy go lucky mods now and then. ;)

Not that the single pup wouldn't last a player for a very long time, or indefinately for that matter. Cool deal! 8)

They are both that disappointing color...wine red......

I need a different color option.

There's always the strip and go naked option! :o

I had one in my cart before I noticed the two models at different prices, and need to find out the differences.
Think I'll swing by the local GC and see what they know.
