Hi after using 10's on all my guitars for the last 30 odd years ...i put a set of 9's on my sg400 custom and one of my epi Lps , i only played for about 15 mins but i noticed the difference , no tensing fore arm , i'll see how it goes for a few weeks and if it works i'll probably swap all my guits over to 9's ,
I might get special dispensation to keep my man card seeing as it's on medical grounds :applause: , cheers
Alan

Alan, no sweat, do what works is rule #1 for the pro player.

Most of the guys you cover probably used 9's anyway! and ZZTop, even lighter.

I jumped the reservation!
Ya'll do know that I'm just messing around with this right? OK...

As to injuries I can understand quite well. In '75 I shattered my left wrist in a bad traffic accident. Couldn't play a guitar for three years, nor shoot a bow for almost eight. It was over ten years before I could do a flat palm pushup without that side of me buckling and giving out. Shucks, after that stroke I had a while back, if I want to find a pick now I just have to look on the floor. 'Cause that's where I've dropped 'em all!:)

Hi , DBB , yes most of the stuff i play the guys used 9's , apart from rory gallagher who used 10's and was a heavy hitter , now i just have to get used to them :) i.ve put a few hours in tonight playing through a few old alice cooper band albums ( well 4) i might just need to raise the action a tad and should be good to go in a few days

Wade i feel your pain mate , when i slipped the disc in my neck i was on my back for a month full of morphine , and since then i can't really lift anything with my left arm ,nerve damage , a bit of a bugger seeing as i'm a joiner / carpenter to trade , and i do know your just teasin' , cheers
Alan
