Hi, I was reading an old post of yours about pickups in an 87 SG 62 reissue. I have one with pickups just like yours from late in the year. Do you still have the guitar or happen to know the julian date from the serial? I'm trying to nail down some time periods for research I'm putting together on shaw pickups.
You said that you have a Fender Telecaster Deluxe. Those are about the price of a Standard SG, and it's made in Mexico?

Sorry to respond a year later... I've had a few issues.
But yes, I have a 2006 Mexican made Fender replica of the '72 Tele Deluxe.
It's equipped with two Fender branded "Wide Range" hum buckers, which are
made with "normal" Alnico magnets instead of the CuNiFe magnets in the originals
designed by Seth Lover for Fender.
This offer is still on the table. I have yet to see any movement on the removal of the Downs Syndrome photos, and the main offending thread is now locked so I can't do much on my end at the moment. Has anything changed that I should be aware of? I have obviously returned to trolling him, but will stop if things are moving forward.

DM me directly and provide a link to the said photo.
Voxerington G. my tubes are blue.. whats that mean x22,000
What about a 'finger rest' (jazz / LesPaul style) custom installed. Practical ? Would it trash a factory custom SG Modern ? I'm thinking clear so as not to obscure the finish (and protection).......
Back in 1967 I bought my first REAL guitar

A Heritage Cherry SG Special...It had 2 p90s the lyar bridge and trem combination...and a very v thin neck. IT NEVER STAYED IN TUNE.Later that year..went back to Chuck's and bought his last blackface Fender Twin. They had the new silver faces on the floor..I wanted “that one”. He gave me a few more off I reluctantly did. Years later sold SG $110; Twin for $220.
i live in up state Ny on the border Vt . it helps if you have some one to practice with
Just picked up an Epiphone SG Standard that I Think is a '61 from 2018 (per SN lookup that yielded scant details); Grover tuners... Is that unusual or to be expected? From a pawn shop. Still researching what I got my hands on but feels and plays nicely so far!

I'm looking at one now to probably buy. Looks identical to the one in your photo. According to the S/N it is a 2016, April Chinese made one. I noted the same thing Grover tuners with a single mounting screw and the truss rod cover with "SG" (no quotes) on it.
Just for reference, all my life I have played Gibson Les Pauls. I’ve owned a very many of them. I’ve never really been a collector or even a keeper for that matter. That’s why I’ve been through so many instruments. I know what it take’s to make a very high quality guitar and I know what they feel and sound like. I’ve also owned several high end tube amps. Take care everyone!
