BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!!!!

ORDER NOW, AND YOU'LL GET, NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE, LIMITED EDITION GUITAR PICKS, MADE FROM Orville Gibson's TOILET SEAT!!

-Why be content with a few guitar picks when one can have the complete package?

toiletguitar.jpg

-Would this be a player or a collector’s item? Would I be able to squeeze some dark tones out of this badass? :io:

There is a parallel universe, where some people buy ”guitars” as art, memorabilia or sometimes just as an investment. It’s a bit a sad, but some fine guitars never get played.

Thinking about it –Aren’t the baked maple guitars the “real” government series? These were the guitars that came out when the rosewood was seized…..

Honestly, that government gray looks a bit cool. Rugged and gigable in a sort of way...

its starting to grow on me, but i like what i have.

i think with this wood scandal, like other things government's around the world. they make laws to restrict use of things they think are becoming scarce. but the reality is they make the situation untenable to the company's to carry on with their business in a normal way. there must be an easyer way to restrict and protect our woods and grow more for the future. the pressure on gibson to supply guitars with the wood they always have used must be horrendous. but gibson no matter what wood they use must keep the quality of their products high, as that is what people expect and that is what they pay for.

I'm not sure I think it's a fun silly idea or just stupid.

But hey, Gibson made a special finish out of the flooded factory floor, so the marketing guys will do anything.

and there's a cool eagle on the pickguard. "It's destined to be a collectible:"

"In August of 2011 the US Government raided the Gibson factory in Nashville and seized a large amount of wood. The seized wood, mostly rosewood, was eventually returned. This limited-edition guitar sports a rosewood fretboard that was seized in that raid."

I thought this was silly at first, but on second thought maybe it's a cool idea.

Still not sure what the grey is for, what is it supposed to be, like a filing cabinet???, as in govt bureaucracy?

I would have voted for something like a WWII jeep look, always thought they were cool looking.

Agent stdio, I spy an eagle engraved in gray metal. Gibson was raided.

I think it's funny that the Eagle's got a guitar fretboard in its claw.
and yeah, a "Government Model' is a .45 cal handgun like the one pictured above,
so maybe that's the color.

BIG GOV'MINT vs CORPORATE BOSSES... I still don't know who's the bad guy. But it sounds like Gibson was
buying contraband. Remember, the reason the wood was banned was because of a coup d'etat in Madagascar,
where somebody ousted whatever tin-hat dictator they had there, and they quit paying the forestry workers
and prolly the back country police, so suddenly there was like, no enforcement of existing lumbering
regulations, and also the economy tanked. So all the local village people were selling whatever they could
lay their hands on, trying to get some money somehow. Greedy international marketeers took advantage
and bought up stocks of fine hardwoods at fire sale prices, mostly for Chinese consumption I'd guess. Because
that's where most of it goes, into cabinetry and flooring for the Chinese middle class. Epiphone doesn't seem to
have any shortage of Rosewood, do they? Nor Fender... Gibson apparently came to the dance too, and got caught
with a pocketful of unlicensed lumber. But who's the bad guy, if there is one?

That's what we wonders, yes we wonders...

Despite all the hype Henry Juszkiewicz generates, he knew Gibson were violating US law and international treaties by purchasing the wood and is still carping about paying a fine for a crime most of his foreign counterparts could be sent to prison over . Taylor, Martin and others managed to do it above board . Bob Taylor has made a personal commitment to responsible environmental stewardship . Gibson have made just the adjustments necessary to comply with the law . These guitars are Henry J's way of recouping some of the loss, while shaking his privates in the government's face . Since in the USA the people are the government, take that for what it's worth, but also remember, Henry J isn't Gibson guitars . Gibson guitars are the history and legacy of the instruments and the people who have made them with the sweat of their brows and the substance of their spines, some of whom were concerned enough about how their company was doing business, that they alerted the investigators . When I play my Gibsons, it is that character and spirit I hold in my hands and that character and spirit that keeps the avaricious disregard of corporate giants in check .

Humbly I would like to add that traditional Gibson tone woods are not endless resources. Eventually (maybe we are already on the verge?) there will be a shortage.
-How many rosewood fingerboards can be cut and how many mahogany necks can be sawn each year and for how long?

The Gibson brand name is immortal as long as the company continue production of the historic line of guitars - but the models we love are destined to become more expensive over time...

Savvy R&D pays great respect to the Gibson legacy and in parallel makes efforts to develop sustainable production methods in quest of a future line of guitars;

The guitar of the future is built to last, from resources that last. That’s a corporate responsibility as important as its mission to continue to serve customers with historically correct reissues.

"Biddlin for president!" No thanks, too much stress, but I am available for ambassadorial posts . I would prefer a moderately warm, coastal climate. I'm willing to brush up my Spanish and German, my inflection gets me into trouble in Mandarin( meant to say, "Thank You," but the waiters face was reacting to "----" as he lifted the large knife from the table .)
