whats with the tape on the headstock???

What I think is that he didn't have his own guitar with him, got an Epi somewhere and taped off the logo to show he doesn't like/endorse them or something.

i think you should stop loving angus so much and be more open minded to other guitarists if your serious about becoming a musician
I agree. But everyone has their influences. If it weren't for bands like The Clash and Green Day, I probably wouldn't have discovered the Les Paul junior.

Angus is my Primary influence. I have many more. Trust me.
Wasn't judging or anything. Just curious cause the kid seems to love his AC/DC.
AC/DC is much better for young people than all those electronic farts and bleeps they call music these days.

He's probably under contract to Gibson, rather than it being a personal choice about what he'd want to be photographed with. He probably can't be photographed with an Epi ... Same reason someone who endorses Nike shoes wouldn't be able to be shown with Adidas shoes, etc

Yeah, but Epiphone is MADE by Gibson

(minus 30-some years...)
"I'm glad he listens to Sinatra and Perry Como.. better than all the long-haired freaks doing all that yelling and noise and they call music these days..."
I just couldn't hold my tongue any more, cuz I hear that sentiment around here every now and then, and it :) Not that I'm a big fan of fluffy pop-music, but lots of other current music has redeeming qualities if you try to listen for them aside from an initial knee-jerk reaction. :) Not directed at you per-se, just needed to say it. :)
Remember, most people used to think Jazz was corruptin the youth... now most people think it's boring. :)

No, it's owned by Gibson not manufactured by them... same reason he couldn't be photographed with a Kramer or a Signature.. It's an advertising thing, and the image is supposed to be that ... "Only a Gibson is Good Enough (tm)" :) They don't want him photographed with or playing an Epiphone because they don't want to advertise that an Epiphone is good enough for him... whether it is or not, it's all about advertising. If an epiphone is good enough for Angus, you can figure that at least a few people saving for an SG would just go for the epiphone if it was 'good enough for Angus'...
Epiphones are indeed good enough guitars, but not as far as Gibson's advertising department and contract are concerned.

i love jazz!
Oh I like some jazz... not a lot of it, though, that's currently performed... as in the stuff that's played in book stores, etc. I can't stand that since it seems a lot more soul-less and by-the-book (and therefore less interesting) than some really classic stuff from the earlier part of the century.

True, but that was usually older people saying those things and I'm still young myself( 19 is still young right?). And I'm not saying all modern music is lousy, it's just that there are kids here (the Netherlands) that listen to music like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=g6MmK2cui7Y :idiot:
And I love jazz too, listening to some Mingus right now.

Charles Mingus isn't something I've heard much of, only every now and again at college. I like some good jazz, branching out into swing - the song 'Five' is fun to listen to.
