I keep it simple.

I should have added Mr Iommi too!

Robby Krieger (The Doors), Pete Townshend (The Who), Frank Zappa, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) and Thom Yorke (Radiohead). All in that order, too!

I'm sure there are worse...I may have played one or two myself.....but the "strangle-the-guitar" riffing on "Fur Elise" was kind of funny.

That reminds me of being young and wanting to play solos but not knowing what to do. I knew enough to not do that though. Good on him for even trying though.

I really like Frank Marino. Awesome tone! Can't forget Buck Dharma from BOC either!

that was a funny vid! I remember when I was a teen... I decided I would take a lead on a song with our fledgling band... I had no clue how to do any real leads so just did a 3 note cascade over and over at random positions up and down the neck. OH the humanity!!! I remember at the end of the solo, there were a few claps and my band mates said they were just happy I was done :)

No major players to add but fun to see all the great players using SGs over the years.

Back on topic...
I'd have to say Angus, Angus, Angus.
Clapton in Cream, Tony Iommi. Page's double neck.

Dude... Yesterday I saw Black Sabbath here in Argentina... the best freaking show I've ever seen in my life. About the favourite SG player... well.. yesterday I saw Iommi for the first time, face to face. The best solos I've ever heard... my god. That SGs screaming... Iommi's as good as when he was 25 years old. Thank you Tony, thank you so so much

Great SG Guitarist!

The most frighting rig ever seen to mankind , makes a wall of Marshall look like nothing.

Imagine the treble pickup coming trough that twin reverb and the bassman head driving the horns. I can feel the pain just by looking at it.

He must have had a stereo jack in the guitar and a stereo chord that split the signal from the pickups. Impressive setup. I would love to see the look on the face of the local sound guy when You bring this gear through the back door of your favourite small club venue!

Don't forget that Gary Duncan also played SGs (but perhaps not exclusively). :)

Quite a few times when I saw them Gary Duncan used an L5 with a
Florentine cutaway, just like the one Jerry Miller of Moby Grape used.

But here's Gary playing one of John's SGs. He has said that John often got him to play his latest project. :thumb:

I've also pics of Gary playing a Gibson 345, a white SG Custom, gold top Les Paul and, as you say, an L5 (or similar). :)
