Love the white one. Well, I love the moon inlays too. Ok, I love all of them. They're SG's. I think you may have too many, so please consider sending one or two my way, just so they get the proper attention. Lol. Welcome to the board. You have a lovely collection and a great wife. This forum is unlike most. It has a brilliant cast of characters yet it remains friendly and informative. Once in a while there's an upstart but it doesn't last long. Please continue to visit. We are a welcoming crew.

Welcome to ETSG! Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR SGs. That's the way to introduce yourself! The faded with '57s will sound fantastic, and that '60s Tribute! MAN, it just looks awesome. That's one GAS-inducing monster.

Ah shucks guys... here I was thinking I had some disorder that needed medication to tame, but instead I run into you folks and all is well. Again, I really appreciate your replies, enthusiasm and understanding.

The 60's tribute is a stunner for sure... the neck is ever so thinner than the meaty necks on the special faded units... so my clunky all thumbs approach to strangulation ( I mean finding notes) requires a touch more refinement. I imagine being a British bloke in the sixties when-ever I pick her up... Her Name is Tony. Yes... Tony.

The p-90's do sing and she love, love, loves getting dirty. I foresee no changes to her in the electronics area, and I think Gibson nailed it when she was born.

The special faded-ed-ed-es... they are a whole-nother-story. The necks, man those necks... I can really feel 'em ya know? Thick back curve... wide feeling like my fingers have all the room in the world to find the sweet spot.

I guess I should have given a better review about them, but I got all gushy... and skipped some of that technical stuff that we only appreciate in some back-minded way while we sling 'em on and get them up and humming.

So far... I love the feel. I have been trying to choke the life out of my strats... like I needed to conquer them. But the SG... wow-gee-wiz-wowwy-wow... they beg me to just sink in and enjoy.

Usually I use "finger ease" on all my instruments... but I have yet to add a drop of slick-em to the strings on the SG's. It is the little things like that that have my jaw on the floor about these guitars. The overtones... the undertones.... the right down the middle tones.

I am preaching here... Those voices coupled with just how well it fits... I can't quit playing them... except to get all gushy one more time and say WOW out here in the internet.

I love hearing other players tell about how they bonded with their SG...
When it was happening to me, I was totally blind sided. Clueless and shoeless...
But it was one of those experiences I navigate by instinct. My instincts are mostly good,
so I got through it all right. And emerged on the other side of the dreamy smoke
holding a 2007 SG faded Special that I had modded with all the best of everything I
could buy or make. I named her Luna. '57 Classic and Classic + ...one of the best combos
for an SG IMHO.

I'm totally head over heels for this guitar... I fell really hard for her in like 2008, and it's two thousand effing sixteen
and I'm not over it yet. She's the Queen of my music room. I now own five electric guitars, and they are all excellent
but only handmaidens to the Queen.

So let me add just a little G.A.S. to your already bloated balloon: There's one SG tone you don't have YET...
(uh oh...) I suggest you play the ones you have for long enough to explore all that they have to offer. And if
your long gray beard doesn't get in the way by the time you've done that, I suggest you look at an SG with:
(roll the drums)... MINI-HUMBUCKERS!

Gotcha didn't I? This is my 'other' SG. I only own two. But my two are both excellent and interesting
on their own. And the Mini-hums rock. IMHO anyway...

So be really nice to your great wife. Buy her a day at the spa... including massage and
mano-pedo... and all that. Tell her thanks for being supportive, and reward her in the best ways you
know how. Lots of us would love to have a wife like yours. So you must cherish her.
And one day she may get the idea that you need to get at least one more SG... with the Minis.
She may help you. Or you might sell one that isn't getting played. It won't be the one with the '57s
and it won't be the one with the P-90s. Those are to keep.

Welcome to ETSG. You've found a safe harbor.

Howdy Col. Mustard.

Oddly.... I was considering the mini-hums. Wildwood guitars (in Denver) has an SG with the mini's. The WHOLE PLAN was to drive to Omaha, pawn shop the heck out of that town to see what was going on (sadly Omaha was woefully lacking in SG's.... There was a late sixties SG with some odd vibrola and 3 pickups that was way out of my price range in one pawn shop, and a pretty minty Army Green limited custom SG in another pawn shop, in my price range... but it had regular humbuckers... so the white 60's tribute was the clear winner...other than that... no bueno in the SG department.

Anywho... I was going to pass through Denver on the way back so i could score the mini-hum equipped guitar... but... but... but

To show my wife my devotion to her and self control of my own personal G.A.S, I bought HER a Ruger sp101 in the caliber of .357, some new Hogue grips, a neat red sight to fit on the thing, and did some trigger work on it to rid it of the gravel feel whilst pulling the hammer or trigger. Also added some lighter springs so her itty-bitty hands could give it a go with smooth squeezes instead of struggled jerks.

Her beautiful eyes are still shining with joy.

BTW, I love the wood pickguard on the faded. You have style my friend.

Hi Starscream... yeah... the brass, um....uh....paper-weight on the work bench is a practical tool. Besides popping lids down firmly on paint cans, it has driven nails into walls to hang pictures upon as well. Hammers turn to smoke and vanish around me, so I figured a...ummm... paper weight would stick around longer.

Sadly... my neighborhood is sort of rough and my living space is peppered with LAST STAND decorations through-out.

Sounds like you're in an episode of TWD, fer cripes' sake!

That wood-laden SG of the Colonel's should not only be functional as a rocker, but as a display piece in any living room. Insanely nice, and completely unique.

I ordered a used Epi 1961 50th anniversary SG Special from GC and then replaced the P-90s with minihums myself to get mine cheapish. Did a fret level and polish while I was at it. Great player, great mini humbucker sound. A lot less trebly than the mini-hums in my Sorrento btw. Bonus that the 1961 50th anniverary SG Special has a nicely bound, no-nib fretboard. Sure it's mystery wood under the veneer, but the veneer is very pretty. (mini hums from GuitarFetish, mini-crunchy with ceramic magnets)
