Green Custom SHop SG

Hi Everyone,

I'm glad I found this site. I used to have an SG that seems pretty rare. Because I have been trying to find another for years now and I can't seem to do it. Maybe some of you on here can help me out...or it would be cool to know that others have seen one like it. It was my favorite guitar I've ever owned and I would do anything to get it back or one like it...here it goes...

'93 0r '94 Custom Shop SG Special
Dark cadillac/metallic Green
Pearloid pickguard and back plate
Gold hardware
Ebony Fretboard
Custom Shop logo oh the lower neck

This thing had the best neck I'd ever played on in my life.Plugged into an AC30 and it screamed! I talked to the custom shop and they hardly remember it. They said the kinda remember making them and they are very limited. I remember that when I bought it, the shop had got a bunch of different custom shop guitars like it at the same time. One special (which I bought), a standard, and a custom. All the same color with pearloid guard and gold hardware. The shop also got a Les Paul studio and a flying V in the same colors, all custom shop. According to custom shop, the made one limited run of guitars in that color and never again. There are really beautiful. If you haven't seen one, you should check one out.

I would love to talk with anyone that knows about them or maybe has one. I hope one day I can get one back of my own.

Oh yeah, I was thinking about replicating one..although I need to find a sg special with an ebony fretboard. Anyone got one for sale?

See the price on that! Green N Gold! What kills me is that badge between the neck and the pickup! That will become a collectors item .. but I'm too old to buy a new guitar and heve it get old! ... anymore :cry: :roll: :funny:

Hey! Thanks everyone! That is the one I have been looking for for almost 10 years now. It's a shame that it's signed by Jimmy Buffet. One might think that may raise the value of the guitar. I'm also a bit affraid to bid on it seeing frrdback on the seller. I'm going to try to contact him and we'll see how it goes. Thanks to everyone on here for all the help. I'll let ya know what happens and post pics if I get it.

Hi again everyone!

It's been over a year since I last posted this...I didn't get the "Jimmy Buffet" signed guitar. It looked pretty messed up and the guy never answered any of my emails anyway. Has anyone seen one lately or owns one that wants to sell it? Once again here are the specs...

Gibson Custom Shop SG Special
Green Metallic
Pearl Pickgaurd
Gold hardware
Ebony Fretboard
It should say custom shop on the heel of the neck and also have the run number there.

I belive they came out in 1993/94
I know for a fact they made a small run of them in sg specials and standards. I am lookin for the special. I also remember when I first purchased it they had a flying v in the same color. It was very beautiful.

If anyone has info on this guitar I would really apreciate it. I hope to own this guitar again!
