How many is too many?

My 2 cents… If you must, sell the two middle back row ones first, unless they sound the best of course!
If you love them all though, keep them.

I’ll definitely be keeping the Special as it’s my couch and travel guitar. Believe it or not, it’s actually one of my favorites.

So I gotta ask, why two of the original Angus Young Signatures? I wouldn’t mind one myself, should you decide to donate one of the twins to a good home, lol.

Beautiful collection BTW. How many is too many? Depends on the person I guess. I have 3 SG’s, a Sheraton, an acoustic. I have a few on my to buy list, so clearly I am not there yet

The two AY’s on each side were just a situation of being/looking in the right place at the right time. They are slightly different in color and the control cavity is routed differently. I’ll be hanging on to all three of the AY’s for some time to come. Probably going to sell the Deluxe and I haven’t decided between the Modern and the Standard. Standard and Special both have 490’s but I’ve purchased a Gibson AY and Classic ‘57 that both have 4 wire conductors that I was planning on putting in the standard. If I put them in the Moden, I’ll have coil-splitting options.

Wow, that’s very interesting that the AY are routed diffident. I bet they are from different years. I believe the original AY was offered from 2000-2009. I wonder if they transitioned the model to a more generic 61 RI on the inside to save production costs?

I am not surprised on the color variation either. that’s par for the course when mixing stains over long periods. Although you think it would be perfect every time. If Home Depot can make the same paint year after year…

Don’t have to worry about your addiction here. You are in a safe place. Gibson and Angus have taken a lot of my money over the years.

very fond memories for me through the Black Ice tour. Hard to imagine that was 12 years ago.

If you had to choose between the new AY signature or the original version, which would you choose and why

More than three is too many for me.
A few years ago I had seven.

Thinned it down to three.
One for each tuning.
Neck pups are regular P-90's.
Bridge pups are hum cancelling P-90's.

I would take the wider neck from the original AY and place it on the “Thunderstruck”, it has a very small neck that requires a little more finesse.

I have learned that my FAV SG's are usually the players.. and not the lookers.. just seems to work out that way.. curious.. nut width on the AG young models must be 1 11/16.. but the "Thunderstruck" looks narrow? I have a 76 SG with 1 9/16th nut which i really got used to .. works those quick ope chord changes fast.. but the neck is rounder.. more shoulders and get bigger up the neck for sure.. love that neck feel the most.. my SG-62 has a wafer thin neck.. plays great.. but feels differently.. action on that guitar is easily a hair under 3/64th's with NO BUZZ..
