Amazing finish is right!!! Congratulations on a fine NGD!!!!
--I am 1/2 Welsh -- nothing to do with yer fine guitar, but I thought it might be germane to the conversation in regards to the locale of your lovely axe.

The other 1/2 is 100% BSC ;)

Nice guitar. I bought one of those a few years back and really enjoy the P-90 tones you can get out of that beast. The neck is a 60's slim taper, very fast. Another thing I've noticed is that the finish, color, and quality is VERY high for a Gibson in that price range. I changed the tuners to single ring keystones and it never goes out of tune. Just a great guitar that I paid $475 for. The more you play it the more it will grow on you. Good luck, have fun.

'Mayhem' in the neck position, 'Anarchy' in the bridge position.

what a good idea... we had a whole thread on this topic a few years ago
and got lots of interesting and not so interesting dichotomies. Yours is one
of the best. My other favorite was Bite/Sting. I also liked the simple Neck/Bridge.

But Anarchy/Mayhem seems particularly appropriate for an SG.

I think I might be missing out on the P-90 experience. I have three SGs now, all with humbuckers (Burstbuckers, 57s, and 490/498). But seeing that I'm at NGD+2, I'll have to wait a little while longer. But not too long...

Y'know I can't remember Col, it was someone on MLP from Texas but that's all I can recall I'm afraid. It's my age y'know....

Yeah, I've had a few guitars with P90's in the past just never had an SG with P90's. Now I've had the opportunity to mess around with it a little, the SG certainly suits them. It sounds different to all the other P90 guitars I've had; not 'night and day' different but, how can I say this, more controllable. I seem to have found a sweet spot where I can play clean and when I dig in, it dirties up real nice. It's hard to explain but it puts a smile on my face!
