Fellow SG and guitar enthusiasts, I apologize if I have been posting too much.
I lurk on many forums, post occasionally on some, but love this one and comment a lot. Unfortunately, I may be putting my 2 cents in on way too many things, and if so, I do offer my apologies. :hmm:

late night post gig realization......

I disagree. I've been a member of forums before and you get used to the 'regulars'. You look forward to reading those people's posts.

I know I'm still new to this forum, but I look forward to reading input from you, Tony_M, SG Lou, oldrockfan, Col Mustard, iblive, Dorian, and many others whose screen names don't come to mind, right now (my coffee hasn't kicked in, yet). I certainly don't want to offend anyone by not mentioning them, but you know what I mean.

BTW, I checked out some of your tunes on your Myspace link. Very nice!

dbb -- I don't see a problem. I post rarely because this is how I have always worked with web sites since the days before forums and wikis, and I am too old to change now. I like it that others have quicker responses to threads and messages because this gives the site a more human touch. Besides, as a working jazz musician I think you should feel free to post as much as you want -- I certainly benefit from your viewpoint and reactions to issues instrumental and musical. (Coincidentally, I usually agree with your social views, which you express delicately, but this is only me.)

I disagree as I like to read your posts David, and you also seem to be a very good guy around here and I'm sure you are in person. Anytime I see a new post by you I read it and know it will be worth the time. I also respect your hard-working musician status. Is it weird that we haven't met but the thought of leaving you a guitar of mine in the event of my death has crossed my mind? Umm, yeah, probably but I know it would be put to good use in your hands and appreciated - better than sitting in a closet! (There's enough guitars to go around between my kids, you see.)

I am almost speechless. Thanks for such a vote of confidence. and I was NOT fishing for compliments or sh*t, I just noticed was commenting on anything and everything.

As for your guitar, I'd rather you live a VERY long and healthy and happy life with your kids.

Now, if you and your kids have extra guitars...well as much as I'd love a vintage axe, I have good working instruments - I'd rather see a guy that really needed a good instrument get one before I get a 5th - no 6th - 7th guitar.

However I won't turn one down....in all appreciation, I could see fit to keep a 60's SG Special and let a guy have my P90 SG copy.

Peace.

Hey yeah I seriously have thought that and what a better place/time to speak my thoughts than here? So weird... I know.

So you mean you like my white 60's Tribute w/P-90's? A modest choice. I don't have a P-90 vintage guitar, you see (yet). I will go ahead and put a little note in the case compartment right now. Consider yourself in my will! Hahaha! Good timing too I'm headed to Mexico on a plane on Monday!

Are you kidding me?!?!
You're apologizing for your posting?
You are a major asset in here and all of your posts
actually make sense (unlike my pinball machine train
of thought stuff and my constant ranting).
I have never read a post by you that was not worth
the time it took to read it and quite a few of them
have provided me with "knowledge snacks" that I
did not have before I read them.
Post away.

GOGOGOGOGO!!

Hey, dbb, I've been a reader here for over five years and, IMHO, you're just part of the ETSG scene and it wouldn't be the same without your $.02. Write on!

posting about guitar stuff is what I come here for. If nobody was posting... well what would be the point. The other really cool thinga bout this forum is even though many of us have very different opinions on politics, religion, etc... we all can make our points without getting our feelings hurt over pety stuff. You can't say that about most of the music related forums on the web so that is what makes this one cool!

I concur with the other members, dbb.

Your concern is misplaced, and your posts are always interesting
and/or informative, well, mostly. :)

I think most of us only get a little annoyed when we see a new member
submitting lots of posts with one word, or just a smiley, and it's obviously an
obsession with seeing a high post count next to their name.

I had a rant about that here myself a while back, so I'll leave it there.

Anyway, keep on truckin' and postin'.

I guess I was a bit tipsy after I got home from that last gig (after several large gin and tonics) and thought I might be a pest...like I said, I wasn't fishing for strokes, just concerned.....but evidently, y'all are as into this forum as I am - plus I think I have been excited by all the new members and more active posting lately.

You guys are great....can we have a big on-line jam session? What do we need, jam hubs or something?

Alcohol will do that to you sometimes. Ha ha. More than once I have got up in the morning and thought "What the heck was I thinking"?.
You're a good guy and I learn things here from most that post on this forum. Like ORF said about even if we differ on things we still get along. That's what I think is cool about most that have been here for a while. We don't get all bent out of shape about stuff. I guess we respect each other.
At least if you're posting we know that you're okay. It kind of makes me wonder sometimes about some that haven't posted for some time. Are they okay?

Same here, David. I'm a newbie, but have been lurking and reading, and I have to tell you that i find your posts informative, well thought out and above all, useful. We are indeed lucky to have someone with YOUR expertise and experience here. I've learned a lot off you in the past few weeks.

Don't back off! We need guys like you!

I like the knack you have for getting in the last word... *grins

and like these others here, I always read your thoughts, and think about what you have to say. I don't always agree, but it would be weird if I did. Respectful conversations between people who don't necessarily agree is something we all need badly, especially now. another reason to lurk and join, and post on this forum. to get away from all the hype and spin of this political season. *shudders

I feel like we are all in this together, whether we know it or not.
