Check it out.
Clean H-rm for days. Easily achieves break up and distortion at a very bedroom friendly volume.

Had 1 for over a yr. Sounds great out of box, even better when speaker breaks in.

I remember in the early 80s, the Pignose was kind of big. I read somewhere that your "buddy" could open and close the front for a "cool effect". I wonder if that was an effective selling point.
Zappa used a Pignose on many recordings and live.

I vouch for the Mustang III v2. It goes way low and way loud. Headphone capabilities and tons of options. Ignore the presets and make your own.

I'd say get a good attenuator.

Over the years I've had too many "practice" amps to count and I currently have a Katana 50. It's cool and all, and I geeked out a bit on it when I first got it, but I have not played it in a couple of months. The sounds it makes just can't compete with my Mesas even at very low volumes. And when I need to get them super-quiet I use an attenuator.

If you love the sound of your Orange don't compromise for volume. Nope, the Mesas don't sound as good at low volume as they do cranked, but they do sound better than any modeling or practice amp does.

I dont really know why not get the katana, I`d have to play them side by side. Still, it seems most likely that both are awesome and some kind of mojo would make me choose one over the other.

edit: now, thinking about it. I`m reducing my board from 11 pedals to 5(couting a tuner) just because I notice that the less options I have the more I like to play. I really enjoy simplicity and just enough knobs to control. Having that in mind, I believe thats why the THR seemed like something I would enjoy more than the katana.

Why not use your OR15 with some pedals to get good low volume play? My main amps are 50 watts and I use OD pedals to get excellent bedroom volume tone. I'm just not seeing your problem, sounds more like an itch to spend some money on something new which is ok, just gotta acknowledge that's what it is. Unless you truly need a headphone amp for silent play, then I recommend Amplitube Irig to load on your phone or tablet.

Not to beat a dead horse, but another solution for silent play is get one of the original Marshall MG series amps and use headphones, I did this for years when I couldn't sleep I'd play guitar at 3am through my MG and sounded really good.

I can explain myself on that. I work Bucharest X Barcelona and I am always traveling around romania too so I want an amp that I can take everywhere with me.

also, I sincerely dislike the sound of a 12inch speaker (which I use woth the OR15) at lower volumes. If the speaker is not moving I much prefer the tone of my BiasFX/BiasAmp through my monitors.

Coming out of the woodwork to plug the Blackstar ID:Core 10 V2. I use it almost exclusively now that I have a new baby in the house. The two 3" speakers sound really full at conversation volumes, not thin like my 12" Bandit. The headphone jack also sounds good with my cheap studio monitor headphones. It's super easy to get a good sound - set the model, adjust gain and volume, and set the tone. You have a suite of effects too, although I really usually just set a touch of reverb and delay and forget about the rest. It's also cheaper than a decent overdrive pedal and doubles as a recording interface and decent stereo for music playback.

You won't convince anyone you're playing an Orange stack, but I doubt you'll find much to complain about, either.

...I want an amp that I can take everywhere with me.
About 6 months ago, I bought the Yamaha THR10, and I'm still pretty happy with it.
Pros:
Very portable due it's small size.
Simplicity of the amps controls.
Amp can also operate on batteries.
Very full sounding at low volumes.
Lots of useful options when connected to a computer.

Cons:
Somewhat expensive.
Don't like the noise gate. Fortunately it can be adjusted or turned off.
Not digging the factory presets. This can be changed, too.

Can't go wrong with the Boss Katana. Haven't played the mini but have the K-100. Awesome amp. Great bang for the buck. Sounds great! Ton of versatility. And Boss seems to stand behind them, just providing a big software update (both firmware and boss tone studio).

BOSS Katana my friend. Any of them at .5W is home friendly.

BTW; Roland builds Boss; and The Katana family of amps is the evolution of the Roland Cude.

I use the following for practice, super happy with the both;

Orange Crush 12 for late night practice and headphones.

Vox AC10 for bigger spaces or daytime appartment, mic’ed up for live.

Yamaha THR 10 owner. It does what it says, but nothing more and what it does is limited. Sounds good with headphones on. Wish I'd gotten a Katana. More versatile.

I have a Roland Micro Cube... it's a SS amp, and the output is like 1 Watt.
So it's far away from the tube amps that people tend to speak of in worshipful tones.
But I really like a couple of the models on this little amp, and that's enough.

There are lots of tones on this modeling amp that I'll never use. Plus two
or three that I like a lot, and that are very useful for my style and audience.
My favorite is the JC Clean setting. This is Roland modeling their own JC Clean
amp that's been a fave of Jazz guitarists and probably country guys too...
anyone who values the clean sound of a pair of good Gibson pickups.

One of the coolest features of the Roland Micro Cube is the pre-amp out.
Run a quarter inch cable out of that and into the main P.A... mix it and
send the signal to the Main P.A. speakers and it sounds huge.

Add that to the compact size and light weight and low cost, and its
battery powered option and this little amp has a lot to commend it.
It has many uses, including House Concerts... which every musician
should know about.

But... I'll recommend the Orange Micro Terror. This little amp looks like a toy,
but it is definitely NOT a toy. 20W of power and a 12AX7 tube makes this amp
a hybrid... AND dynamite. No f/x or reverb keeps the price reasonable.

I use mine as a practice amp, but it's perfectly capable of gigging.
This little powerhouse can run any cab (or pair of cabs) that I decide to plug
in.

I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, but I know one thing, tubes. Bought my first tube combo amp last year, a 15W Fender Superchamp with a Greenback 10" speaker, and I'm never going back to SS. Sounds so good it's rekindled my interest in the guitar. Only problem is, tube amps sound better the louder they are. The sweet spot for my 15W Superchamp is 8 volume, I only use channel one with pedals, and it SHAKES the house. Last week I picked up a used 5W Vibro Champ for cheap, it too is a tube combo, but I can turn it up and not blow the roof off as bad as the 15W. I get nice clean tones and really some really good over drive sounds with various over drive pedals. I've heard good things about Orange Terror and Dark combos, but I wasn't sure if they'd be as versatile as the Fenders.

Nice looking cabs, did you build them yourself?
