Cool Z! I built a model of one like that when they were new. You don't see old Camaros and T/As around very often in this area.

I'm not so much of a "collector" collector of comic books, but I do have a couple thousand to my name...sadly none of them are worth anything; I mostly started out around the "Death Of Superman" back in...when was that, '92? '93? See, I like to READ my comics. I've basically surrendered my checkbook to DC Comics right now...God, I'm hooked on all the INFINITE CRISIS tie-ins! And anything Peter David is writing for IDW is superb.

with a name like weaselspawn, i gotta think you are also a Spawn fan (i might have an undisclosed amount of figures of him around)
[/quote]

Nah, the name is just because I'm guitarweasel's spawn...I'm not all that clever.

Not a huge Spawn fan; actually I don't really care too much for Todd MacFarlane's stuff. I think he was a product of the excessive hype comics went through in the early 90's and now that the industry is focusing more on storytelling rather than new enhanced holofoil variant covers, he's finding that his "career" wasn't all it was cracked up to be. All flash, little product. Give me a good Peter David book any day.

wow you know what you like thats for sure.

i stick with ole spawny... he hangs with me in the office but yeah you have a point onthe merchandising...

TNT, That's because all the '70s Camaro's and Firebirds, in Indiana, got driven into the ground, rusted, wrecked, and just plain used up and abused by myself and many others my age, in highschool, in the mid to late 80's. Why because they were all starting to rust in the ground anyway which made them affordable, average of $400 to$1000, to any HS kid with an afterschool job. If they were lucky, Mom and Dad bought a new one and gave the kid the old one. About 15% of the cars in my HS student lot were GM F bodies.
I had a '77 Firethorn Red with tan and black interior Camaro. Last year of the chromed steel bumpers. Because the seats were all shredded, I had them, the headliner, and package try redone in Tan. So it ended up with black dash, steering wheel, console, and I replaced the carpet too in black; bought all of the rest of the interior pieces in tan from a salvage yard. Wish I had a scanner so I could post some of my pics. when I bought it, it originally had a 2bbl 305, when that threw a rod out the oil pan, replaced it with a H.O. 350 out of a Formula Firebird from the salvage yard, put Edelbrock intake and headers on it, and a Holly 650 CFM 4bbl carb. Also had a 3 speed TH350 Auto and 12 bolt posi. Used to take it up to IRP's amateur drags and run it during the summers.

Phil, from my knowledge of F bodies, that was because by '71 GM was trying to get smog compliance and "some" gas mileage out of them along with keeping the insurance companies happy. Since it was an Espirit; I'd bet that yours had the crappy/econo gear ratios in the tranny and rear end. Don't remember the exact specs off the top of my head. I'd also bet that your driving technique had something to do with burning up clutches; since those Espirits were low troque and econo tuned Firebirds, same as the LT Camaro's. GM was trying to go "luxury" with the Espirit and LT's which is why they have really nice interiors and and many options compared to the Formula, H.O., and SS, regular versions. Really, a crappy vynil half-Landeau top on a Camaro?!? Not what those cars were truly about.

I know what you mean. I miss mine too. I keep looking around to find a restorable one, but the price is $4000+ for one in condiditon worth sinking the money in restoring it into.

I guess you could say that I collect guitar magazines and brouchers. I have almost every GuitarWorld and Guitar For The Practicing Musician published. Along with, most issues of Guitar Player from 1984 to today and various issues of other guitar mags.. I also have several boxes of guitar catalogs/brouchers from various manufacturers including Gibson, Fender, Jackson, Dean, Hamer, Kramer, Ibanez, Taylor, Martin, and others. All of them going back to the mid '80's.

Those boxes of catalogs etc are in storage at my mom's. Next time I'm there I'll do some digging and see what I can find that's SG related and figure out a way to get it scanned.
